Christi received a letter this week from the Battle of Flowers Association (sponsor of Battle of the Bands) saying that since we were chosen as a Feature Band this year, we have the ability to order tickets to Battle of the Bands before they go on sale to the general public. These will be a block of reserved seats in a prime viewing area. So if you are interested in purchasing these tickets, they are $9 each and the event is Thursday, April 23rd. (Nothing like planning ahead!).
The payment will be due this Friday, November 21 - just send it in an envelope with 'Battle of the Bands tickets on it (checks payable to Clark band boosters) and I will pick them up about 3 - this event is usually a sell out so get your tickets now to see Luminosity one more time!
Band Concert Uniform Information Please Read All Details
Starting Wednesday, November 19th, we will be fitting the students in concert uniforms. The students will wear these uniforms at Region Band, Holiday, Pre-UIL, UIL, and Spring Concerts. Please keep this uniform at home and in good condition and ready to be used for all these performances. This uniform can be Dry Cleaned ONLY. You will keep this uniform as long as your child is a Clark Band member. Please note that every year in November we'll have a uniform fitting week. If your child outgrows the uniform, he/she can be refitted and assigned with another one during this week. If for some reason your child leaves the band, please return his/her uniform to school. If your child is a Senior this year, he/she will return this uniform at the conclusion of the Spring Concert in May. Freshmen and all new band members will be issued with a Concert uniform during this uniform fitting week. Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors: Please take your uniform out of your closet and try it on. If you outgrow your uniform, bring it to school and we will issue you with another one during this week ONLY. Please ask your child if hemming or alterations are needed. Boys: If hemming is necessary, do not cut the fabric. Instead, fold the extra fabric under to the proper length, and stitch it. Girls: If hemming is necessary, on the one layer dresses, fold the extra fabric under to the proper length, and stitch it. On the two layer dresses, both skirts will need sewing; do not cut the heavier black skirt, fold the extra fabric, and stitch. The chiffon layer has to be hemmed to prevent fraying. If necessary, cut it to length, plus an additional 1/4 inch to be folded under and machine stitched. In addition, you will need to provide: Boys: a tuxedo shirt and a bow-tie which can be bought at Hobby Lobby or Burlington Coat Factory. They need to wear black dress shoes (no marching shoes) and black knee-length socks. Girls: flat black shoes with a closed heel and black hosiery or black knee-high hose. The regular practice schedule during marching season is as follows:
MONDAY: Evenings 4:30 pm - 7pm
TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY: Mornings 7 am-8 am
THURSDAY: Morning AND Evenings 7am - 8am; 4:30pm - 6:30pm
FRIDAY: No practice
Please keep in mind that this schedule only changes at the directors' discretion.

PARENTS: Donations for water are always needed for the up coming marching season! Please consider donating! We have an extra busy marching season this year, and we need all the donations we can get!

Incoming freshmen receive a water jug and an Under Armour-type t-shirt and shorts for practice at no cost. Any additional water jugs or practice attire can be purchased. Jugs are $15 and the practice gear is $22 per set.
We are still in need of a couple of COMMITTEE CHAIRS:
Merchandise: (Co-chair needed) responsible for ordering yard signs, decals and chaperone shirts (this job is pretty much done in the fall)
Hospitality/Spirit: (Co-chair needed) planning parties and holiday breakfast, you will have a co-chair and lots of help
Senior Recognition: SENIOR PARENTS, this is for you! Responsible for 'senior stuff' Elaine Hutzler will walk you though whatever you need
Banquet: Planning banquet, we have several who have helped in the past and Dolores has a book to guide you through everything
Don't forget to mention CLARK when you Dine with the Band!
