Justin Murphy
Head Band Director
Justin Murphy is the Director of Bands at Tom C. Clark High School. He is a graduate of Missouri State University with a bachelor’s degree in music education. He joined the Clark High School in 2012 and is currently the conductor of the Clark Symphonic Band, and the director of the Jazz Band. In addition, he teaches Music Theory I and II. He is passionate about music and creating student leaders. This is exemplified in his hard work and endless hours spent at the school.
Jacob Aguado
Associate Director
Jacob Aguado joined the Clark HS band staff in the Spring of 2022 as an Assistant Director. Mr. Aguado attended the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education with a concentration in clarinet studies, studying under Professor Daryl Coad. During his time at UNT, Mr. Aguado participated in numerous ensembles including the Wind Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, the Jazz Pedagogy Ensemble, the world renowned Jazz Lab Bands, and the Green Brigade Marching Band. Mr. Aguado grew up in San Antonio Texas and is a former Cougar Band alumni! Outside of school, he is happily married to his wife Nadine, with their baby girl, Lane. Mr. Aguado also enjoys volunteering at his church within the youth ministry and on the worship team.
Ben Gostkowski
Associate Director
Benjamin Gostkowski is the Percussion Director at Tom C. Clark High school. He is a graduate of the University of North Texas where he received his bachelor’s in music education. While at UNT he was involved with several ensembles including the award winning UNT PASIC Quad Ensemble from 2019-2021. Ben was also a member of the Troopers Drum and Bugle Corps from 2017-2021 where he served as Drumline Captain his age out year. This will be Ben’s first year at Tom C. Clark High School, and he is thrilled to be able to use his passion and teaching skills to continue to develop the Cougar Band Program.
